Why does smart scroll not work
Apple Support suggested cleaning it, which sometimes works but not all the time. Shaking it seems to help. Having it work right in the first placce would be better.

The genetleman who mentionned things about the universal Access is right. If you are trying to find this mysterious button using your mighty mouse it will never show up. Well, I never got a satisfactory answer; in fact the last answer they gave me took about a week and was of no help at all. Good old Smart Scroll. Some things never change People have been known to grow old and die while waiting for an answer from them.
Well, they'll give me no more gray hairs, because I won't be expecting anything from them ever again. Smart Scroll is awesome. I primarily use it so I can engage scrolling with a button on my Wacom stylus, but there are lots of other handy features as well. The developer is a friendly guy and quick to fix any issues that pop up with system updates. Been using this for years and always happy to pay the very infrequent paid upgrades.
Niku Nov 24 I have version Smart Scroll 4. Hey, I've been using SmartScroll for a few years now and recently moved to Smooze. Here's why: 1. Auto scroll is a lot smoother. I don't know what makes it choppy with SmartScroll but it always feels like it skips a few pixels when the cursor is close to the starting point.
Throwing a page is a different experience to what I was use to with SmartScroll. SmartScroll do have a setting for it but I never got it to work nor to feel natural. Grab Scroll and Auto scroll can detect if you are hovering over links so pressing on a mouse button over a link will click the link instead of activating the scroll.
The animated scrolling customization options there is wild. I couldn't find any other app that animates scrolling that way. Cheaper Though I already paid for SmartScroll in the past I think it something that should also be mentioned I'd love to see some if not all the above implemented into SmartScroll. Not sure i like the idea of it being a preference pain. I prefer having it in the menu bar or dock or actually both for fast access.
